Snow Clearing

Snow Clearing Regulations
Effective from December 1 to April 30 of each year. Residents are advised that it is against the town of Brigus snow clearing regulations for any person to push, shovel, or blow snow onto town streets. This practice makes snow removal more difficult, & it can create a dangerous situation for vehicular traffic.
Also, as per section 172 of the Municipalities Act 1999, vehicles that hinder or impede the plowing of or removal of snow or ice from the highway may be removed, and before the vehicle is returned to its owner, the owner shall pay the costs of its removal and storage as determined by the council. Where the owner does not pay those costs, the council may sell the vehicle by public auction to satisfy those costs after giving notice to the owner.
We thank you for your co-operation!
