Mar 6, 2024	Adverse Weather Conditions Expected - Thursday/Friday Good afternoon, Please be advised that Environment and Climate Change Canada are forecasting a low pressure system expected to bring significant snowfall to parts of eastern and southern Newfoundland this Thursday and Friday. In addition, this system will bring an extended period of freezing rain and/or ice pellets late-day Thursday into early Friday for portions of the Avalon and Burin Peninsula. Possible impacts based on similar storms in the past include school and business closures, travel disruptions, scattered power outages, and hazardous travel conditions. Please continue to monitor forecasting for your area (https://weather.gc.ca/forecast/canada/index_e.html?id=NL ) and make any preparations as necessary. As a part of your preparations, please have a review of your municipal emergency management plan and make any updates/changes as required (https://www.gov.nl.ca/jps/fes/emo/municipalplanning/).
