Here, you will find Heritage Structures that have been provincially designated, such as the Bartlett/Burke House, Hearn House, Landfall/ Kent Cottage, Stone Barn, Fowler House, St. George’s Anglican Church, and Joseph Bartlett House.
These structures hold immense architectural significance.
Hawthorne Cottage has achieved National Historic Site significance due to its associations with Captain Bob Bartlett, Master Mariner, who led Admiral Peary to the discovery of the North Pole.

The John N. Leamon Museum: Ye olde Stone Barn
Ye Olde Stone Barn Museum is fully staffed and operates in the summer months. The museum boasts many artifacts, models, and audiovisuals that showcase local architecture, history, and extensive genealogy records. It was initially constructed in the 1820s by Charles Cozens.
Brigus Blueberry Festival
The Brigus Blueberry Festival is a Award Winning 4 day event held in mid-August. Activities include raffles, craft stalls, baked goods, a pie eating contest, games of chance, mooseburgers, a cash bar, children’s games, dances, and fireworks at the Brigus Waterfront.
The Tunnel
Hand blasted in 1860 by Cornish miner John Hoskins to provide easy access to Abram Bartlett’s Wharf for his ship, the Panther.
